8City, City of the Future project at a cost of 275 billion dollars
The images speak for themselves. This is the super city project in South Korea under the name 8City. An effort to boost the tourism industry in the country with an approximate cost of 275 billion dollars. Built on the islands of Yongyu-Mui in the port city of Incheon, the enclave would be a tourist attraction on an Architecture that is straight out of a science fiction novel.
The project has been presented as a way to boost the economy, clearly a very high cost. If completed, is expected to be able to create 8City 930,000 new jobs and attract 134 million tourists, mainly from China. Still, taking into account the large amount of the project, it is difficult to think that finally takes place.
As we see in the pictures, plans include luxury hotels, casinos, shopping malls, theme park, water park, a Formula One track, a giant space for performances and concerts with a capacity of 50,000 people or a hospital.
8City would also include a number of places “iconic” as the so-called Inner Circle, a tubular structure or MegaStrip 14 kilometers, 200 meters high, 880 meters wide and 3.3 kilometers long, which would make the structure architectural object in the largest ever built.
The gross area of 4.85 would MegaStrip square kilometers and would have hotels, offices, shops and other tourist attractions. In total, the entire city would occupy 80 square kilometers.
An architectural project that is currently looking for investors. They hope to get funding from the city and is seeking foreign and domestic investors. If finally becomes reality, 8City completed its first phase of development in 2020, with the completion expected by 2030.Tags: 8City, Architecture
