Today Google has unveiled a nice assortment of news regarding mobile devices. A part of Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 , Google has introduced new products that will bring the new version of Android 4.2. This version retains the nomenclature Jelly Bean but still brings interesting news. We will now review the most important detail.
Android 4.2 features a new keyboard that will work with gestures. Only have to slide your finger between the keys and the keyboard will predicting what we write. One of the examples I have is to write “good” and that the keyboard suggests “days”. Swype seems to work as quickly and efficiently but when it comes to predicting what we write.
Panoramic Photos Photo Sphere
Photo Sphere we can shoot immersive as we see in Google Street View. The camera leads us to take pictures in different parts of a scene and then join them all and be able to see them all together as a single scene. It may look like a single image plane or in a viewer so it looks like a dome similar to what we see in Street View. In the video you can see it working.
Wireless Support for Miracast
Added support for Miracast , sharing a standard for audio and video on TVs. Airplay but is a more industry support. It is expected to go players and TVs that support it in 2013.
Support for user accounts
On Android 4.2 introduces a system of user accounts, which will be certainly more tablets used by the phones. When a user downloads an application other users will not have to download it again to install it. When the new user installing an application already downloaded it will appear as if it were new, without the data from the other account. Changing account applications in multitasking but remain in a state of suspension, which may not be working, just doing some very specific task as it would finish downloading a. Each user can have your wallpaper, your home screen, applications and games and even their high scores and saved games.
Daydream is a kind of screensaver that displays information when the device is idle or charging. Seems to work intelligently, as Google Now and show us pictures of our albums, news, etc..
Now Android 4.2 allows notifications that can do some actions on them. No word yet on which applications will support these new notifications but the example shows Google is to answer a missed call directly from the notification.
