Microsoft is testing its own smartphone in Asia
Microsoft may be working with Asian phone providers in their own smartphone, the rumored Surface Phone.
Sources familiar with the company have said that Microsoft is working with Asian component suppliers to test their own smartphone. Suggesting that Microsoft is increasingly adopting the business model of its rival Apple.
Officials of some of the parts suppliers with which Microsoft would be working, who asked not to be identified, commented that although the device exists, not yet confirmed that you do a production run for the same.
It also details the device that Microsoft is currently testing has a screen size of between 4 and 5 inches. Recall that the iPhone 5 has a 4-inch screen, while the new Samsung Galaxy S III has a screen of 4.8 inches.
Speculation about a possible telephone Surface has been on the air for months, be released after the news last June that Microsoft was working on its first tablet.
If Microsoft goes ahead with this mobile device, we would observe to what extent the company is moving away from its normal practice to make and market software almost exclusively, to begin offering a wide range of products at the hardware level.
Stephen Elop, CEO of Nokia, said weeks ago that Microsoft’s mobile device could be stimulating for the sales market which puts Windows Phone 8.
Obviously, the logical move for Microsoft after launching its own tablet, is creating its own smartphone to compete on equal terms with their direct competitors.Tags: Microsoft, Surface Phone, tests
