When Microsoft introduced Windows 8 to have made it very clear that this new version of its operating system would be designed to maximize the touch screens, a market that is booming these days. Well, Sony has taken very seriously the idea presented as a kind of tablet but with decent hardware of a computer, which makes available to its user Windows 8 on a touch panel of no less than 20 inches. This is the new Sony VAIO Tap 20 .

This device is more than curious, because supposedly boasts to be a tablet, but its size and its weight of 5 Kg make us doubt whether he deserves such status or rather this is a new all-in-one on the Japanese home . Of course, this new VAIO Tap 20 has microUSB port, and salidaHDMI miscroSD, but discards any other port that comes closest to being a computer.

Its technical characteristics we find a 20 “screen and 1600×900 resolution, a processor to choose between an Intel Core i3 or Intel Core i7, which confirms that Windows has version 8 and version of Windows with no RT . Its storage is provided by a hard disk (HDD) 500 GB or a solid unit (SSD), and has from 4 GB to 8 GB of RAM.

The negative point about this device is that, due to its huge screen, the battery life is only 2 hours, another point to confirm that the mobility of this device is almost nil, unless for very specific tasks or just move on site without having to turn it off, as it will be a slave outlets.

However, the VAIO Tap 20 is optimized to work well with a keyboard and mouse through Bluetooth, which accompanied removable media allows us to use it as a tablet to support it both in the table and use its touch capabilities in wonderful set of , or as a regular computer.

Sony presents this device as a home computer, including some of the official promotion of children we see hands drawing or playing some games, taking advantage of the 20-inch screen. But in my opinion this VAIO Tap 20 could be much advantage in the business world, for presentations within small groups or some other corporate activities.

The Sony VAIO Tap 20 will be available in the market since October 26 for a base price of $879, which will increase if we add more RAM or a better processor.
