TBIM, the great museum of Internet
As recently as a couple of hours has opened the great Museum of Internet , this site is the first in the world in its sector, has after its digital doors with a diverse collection devoted entirely to the Internet, which can be visited free of charge worldwide every day of the year.
The museum comes from the hand of MediaMonks , the most awarded agency in the digital production sector in the Netherlands, in order to house the collection of interesting items from the Internet, so they can be provided not only by us, but also for future generations.
The museum, also known by the acronym TBIM, is divided into seven specialized divisions. In each room, each subject is classified differently. For example, visitors to the living history will find the first attempts to ARPANET, the forerunner of today’s Internet.
Besides the traditional rooms, the great museum of Internet has other parallels to a conventional museum. Third party companies may display their pieces in an exhibition specially assigned for temporary use and enjoyment.
Visitors can also submit their pieces in the museum, so the collection will grow continuously. The public votes will allow a proposed piece join the museum’s permanent collection, so all visitors are potential curators or museum curators.
The museum’s creators warn us through the press release that many new things are coming, as the gift shop or reading space.Tags: Internet, Museum, TBIM
