The saga of Terry Brooks Shannara series could become
If the series A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin has been transformed into a television series-winning and profitable, the fantastic saga of Shannara Terry Brooks can also get it. The original trilogy consists of The Sword of Shannara (The Sword of Shannara, 1977), The Elfstones of Shannara (The Elfstones of Shannara, 1982) and The Song of Shannara (The Wishsong of Shannara, 1985) could be the basis for a future television series .
Sonar Entertainment and Farah Films has acquired the rights to the books, have the difficult task ahead to find a television network willing to recreate this legendary and epic saga. The World of Shannara could be an attractive proposition television but any string will think very long before accepting that it is a huge project that would consume a lot of money and resources.
The books take place in a feudal world dominated by magic, there are elves, wizards, warriors, trolls and other fantastic creatures. This world was born from the ashes of a devastating nuclear war that destroyed our civilization centuries ago. Most of the main characters in the novels are clansmen Shannara, a noble who can use magic.
Brooks entusiamado shown:
The association of Sonar Entertainment and Farah Films to adapt to television Shannara saga is a very interesting project. Everything about this two companies suggests that the result will be something that both old and new fans of the books embrace. I pledge to do everything possible and help make this possible.
The Shannara series, covering several trilogies, and has 24 books to date. The television adaptation could start with the second book, The Elfstones of Shannara (The Elfstones of Shannara, 1982) and collect parts to complete the other two frames.
Producer Dan Farah is very clear that the work of Brooks can be exploited on television:
Terry has created a world of rich characters and stories, has entertained millions of readers around the world for a quarter century. It has a huge fan base that is larger than that of recent literary successes as The Hunger Games.
Hopefully the series will be successfully completed, could be a material as good as Game of Thrones. If you do not have enough budget that the result may be something like Legend of the Seeker, a series that I liked but it was canceled after its second season.Tags: Adaptations, Terry Brooks
