Windows Tablets ASUS RT come from the $600
For this coming October awaiting the arrival of Windows 8 and of course, the first computers and devices with this new operating system, including a first batch of tablets with Windows RT as we saw to be presented at the IFA 2012 . However, in the case of ASUS prices could be much higher than imagined.
First is the call Live Tab ASUS RT (TF600T model) with Windows RT, which would be listed for no less than $199 $599 and its keyboard dock, following the line initiated by tablets “Transformer” of the house. This would include an NVidia Tegra 3 processor and a 10.1-inch screen.
Also listed the ASUS Live Tab (model TF810C) which come with Windows 8 and a price of $799 plus $ 199 for the keyboard dock, incorporating an Intel Atom Z2760 and 11.6-inch screen. Finally ASUS appears Taichi, a dual-screen device that is a hybrid between laptop and tablet with Windows 8 operating system and a price of no less than $1,299.
While the latter two have the desktop version of Windows 8, the concern is for the Location Tab ASUS RT, since it is assumed that these devices should have a lower price in order to meet its competitors with system OS Android and iPad. ASUS launch this tablet with the high price, there would be no threat to anyone in the market.
Not only that, since the introduction of the tablet Surface from Microsoft, there is talk that the Redmond’s throw with a very affordable price, with the intention of popularizing the platform, a story that has not pleased the manufacturers who consider out its partner in software, now would be a strong rival in hardware. While Steve Ballmer denies that compete directly with the price of Surface, a $600 ASUS tablet would be no match for a Microsoft tablet for $200 or $300 . Just waiting to October 26 for pricing input of the first tablets with this promising platform.
