Xbox Live celebrates 10 years

Today Thursday, 15 November is an important day for the service of Xbox Live as it is the day that marks 10 years. It has been 10 years of service that began a revolution in the online gaming consoles, so let’s give a look.

It all started over 10 years ago is that although the service was launched on November 15, 2002, the original Xbox was launched one year ago. Here we have to review the first success of Microsoft with its first console. Before anyone else saw how important it could be the online game in the future and especially learned from mistakes made Sega. The Dreamcast was released with integrated modem connection but broadband, which made its online service was unsuccessful. So in Microsoft designed and launched the Xbox with broadband connection and also inserted a hard drive to store downloadable content.

At E3 2002, in July, was presented the service had voice chat and a list to add friends. In subsequent years and with the release of the Xbox 360 service has been evolving and growing better and better features. One of the points that has always been different from Sony PlayStation Network (PSN) is the payment for online play. Perhaps one of the first items that comes in a conversation about which service is better. Also note that since Microsoft has done much emphasis on highlighting that although it may be a paid service, the quality level is also much higher.

Eventually Xbox Live has gone from Xbox to be exclusive to the online gaming service for Microsoft as it has been adopted by the PCs and entering increasingly on smartphones. We only hope that Xbox Live meets another 10 years breaking records and innovating .
